Toxic masculinity. Does that mean all masculinity is bad? No! Not at all.
This comic explains it fairly well. The term Toxic Masculinity is from Social Sciences, to help explain certain problems in the current image of Masculinity, which hurts both men and women.
asking for help should never be something you feel embarrassed or ashamed about
even if you ask every day.
you are allowed to ask for help. you are allowed to need help. you should ask for help when you need it, that is the correct response to distressing times and emotions
anyone who has made you feel badly about doing so deserves a swift kick to the shin
@phessler let me know when you've removed keybase, I can reload and test that the link is gone (see attached screenshot of my profile)
@anthonyclarka2 speaking of wide spread, I wish sites or institutions like banks uses GnuPG to guarantee privacy. I wish there's a text bar where I can copy paste my pubkey.
@phessler thank you for linking bsd.network with Keybase :)
I am very happy that the Fediverse is getting noticed more, plus I like the concept of Keybase (although I wish it were maybe more de-centralized)
Keybase is linking our identities on some #Mastodon instances to their centralized ID repository (only with our approval!)
I haven't really messed with Keybase much, would bsd.network benefit from this service? Or do folks wish to keep their IDs separate from each other?
#baseball fan PSA: If you are a US subscriber to T-mobile, they offer the full 2019 season of MLB.tv on Tuesday March 26th.

I just realised “go get lost” could be another @mwlucas title after “git commit murder” (due to the dependency on git).
@anthonyclarka2 just like in Black Mirror S3E3
@anthonyclarka2 I am fascinated by the technical details to do this thing.
Make a request against a youtube http endpoint get the subscriber count.
What would the antispoof be? embed the ca certs?
Or is it "I will post the decrypt keys once I see the subscribe count".
yes on second thought it would almost have to be the second, it better fits the method and intent of the crime.
Apparently the supporters of a popular youtube personality have released file encryption malware that only decrypts once said youtuber gets 100 million subscribers.
What an utter waste of humanity.
You too could have your livelihood destroyed by bored nihilistic children in an attempt to entertain themselves.
This future is awful.
@anthonyclarka2 #CaptainMarvel was great. I'd put it at an 8 out of 10 for MCU movies. The portrayal of Carol and Rambeau were spot-on for the A-Type women I served in the military with back then. I served with some horrible POS types as well, of both genders. That's a digression, though.
I went into it with trepidation because of the horrible pre-reviews, but I came out pleased.
I want to see it again, but my budget won't allow with Endgame next month. Looking forward to the bluray.
#CaptainMarvel is a great movie. Full of woman-relevant scenes, it really resonated with my partner. I'm impressed by how much depth they gave Carol Danvers, and none of the movie dragged for me. Everyone should see this ASAP! (Especially if you were a teenager or in your twenties during the 90s, because the music was perfect!!)
With #facebook pushing a new anti-service which is ment to work similiar as #patreon but more greedy, propably with forcing at some point of time people into accepting facebooks licences....and of course having the absolut control over who sees your content and when.
That is not a good offer. It's a reminder to leave fb for the better.
#Hubzilla is such an example. It federates with the rest of the fediverse and lets you protect posts with a password or setting it to be only visable for a specific group. that could be those that have send you something to support you.
(intecreated payment within hubzilla is exisiting too, but haven't tested it)
If you're an artist, hubzilla does have also a galery function and a file store to organize and show your videos/music.
https://project.hubzilla.org
According to an NYTimes blog, it's been in use for 1,000 years![1]
I still prefer "the request" though.
